Quarantine can turn into an opportunity

We chose Milan as our starting point back in 1996, when the internet, social media and emails were still light years away and we had to earn our reputation by meeting people face-to-face.

In these almost 25 years we have witnessed Milan grow, change and redefine itself, starting with neglected areas and taking on a leading role from an economic and social perspective, excelling as a city of events and re-establishing itself as a tourist destination.

We all raced ahead with Milan and now, at this moment of sudden crisis, we seem to grinding to a halt together with the city. While on the one hand we would like to sit down for a moment and take some time to understand what is going on, on the other hand we have to spring into action and take advantage of this obligatory recess not only to reflect, but also to act and react!

So what should we do during this period of Coronavirus? How can we make the most of this time?

Here is our advice:

  1. Make better use of your available time. We always complain that we never have time, so now that we do, why complain?
  2. Invest time that is seemingly free in new projects
  3. Focus on your company image, improving it and gathering all those ideas that you do not have time to work on during the year
  4. Resume old projects that have been put on standby and develop them
  5. Get back in contact with former customers and suppliers
  6. Create partnerships: unity is strength and never has it been so important to work together and build strong alliances
  7. Focus on empathy: the key to overcoming this moment of vulnerability is to demonstrate your understanding and to listen, negating the sense of loneliness and disorientation that seems to effect everyone
  8. Modernize: this interlude must be a time of reflection that should prompt us to change perspective, to broaden our horizons and perhaps to reinvent ourselves. Changing your point of view and your strategies at a time of total calm can be a breath of fresh air
  9. Reschedule: a forced pause does not mean stopping, but moving ongoing projects to a different period
  10. Create a calm, well-balanced working environment and motivate your team with an optimistic attitude

We leave you with a wish, hoping that all this can end as soon as possible and then return stronger than before, to run as only the great Milan can do.
